We utilize the 9,175 foot Mt Lemmon, the mountainous backdrop to Tucson, and the beautiful rock landscape of Cochise Stronghold in the Dragoon Mountains, southeast of Tucson. Introduction to Rock ClimbingIf you have not climbed before we offer one day forays to give you a taste of what it is all about. This is a great program for families and a way to get the kids outside and into the natural world, enjoying themselves and learning new things in the outdoors. Our overall aim is simply to have fun on the rocks. All you need to bring is lunch and curiosity, and we will provide everything else. We offer scheduled dates and custom programs year-round. Introduction to Multi-pitch ClimbingTop-roped climbing is great way to start, but after a while you may yearn to get higher off the ground - up where the views extend far and the trees look small. On a multi-pitch route you get into the flow of moving over rock for rope length after rope length thus becoming more connected with the process: the systems, the rock, and yourself. Introduction to Leading and Anchor BuildingThis program is the first step in becoming a well-rounded climber and moving towards leading and more difficult climbs. This course takes you to the stage of being a fully participating member of the climbing team, able to make decisions about anchors and capable of their evaluation. We assume that you have had a fair bit of climbing experience before and know the basics of climbing so we do not spend time on climbing and movement skills.
