Kilimanjaro

Kilimanjaro. The Roof of Africa.
Kilimanjaro, the name alone conjures up images of adventure, mystery, challenge, and exploration. Our ascent of this 19,339 ft mountain winds through savannah, rain forest, high desert, and snow-capped alpine terrain. Traveling through this diverse eco-system we ascend via a series of camps, assisted by local porters, to stage for our summit ascent via the Machame route.

The trek to the summit, over the course of seven days, is fully supported by local porters and two Western guides. What does this mean for you? You will travel with a light day pack each day, have all meals prepared, travel at the optimal pace for you, and have expert Western mountain guides and Western medical staff. We go the extra distance to offer a full service expedition experience to support your success and provide the highest level of service and safety.

Our route, the Machame, is a strenuous climb, but no mountain climbing experience is necessary. We will encounter steep ascents and high altitudes that make strong physical and cardio fitness a prerequisite for this trip. Consult Inner Passage to further discuss your training and fitness preparedness.

The Inner Passage Mount Kilimanjaro expedition is planned to the last detail by our mountaineering experts and we take into consideration every factor that contributes to a successful climb: your health and safety, all meals and camp comfort, logistics and travel support, porters and Western staff, modern and highest-quality camping and climbing equipment, and over twenty years climbing on the world’s highest and remotest summits.

Join Inner Passage on an expedition to the roof of Africa: climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, safari in Arusha National Park, and complete an adventure of a lifetime!
Traveling through the alpine environment, living in a wide variety of climates: savannah to rain forest to high desert to alpine, camped between 9,000 feet and 15,000 feet: not necessarily a recipe for creature comforts?
